Yet some fast-food restaurants are offering choices such as salads that are more health-conscious, a nutrition expert said. "I think that right now you could make...healthier choices than you could fifteen years ago at many of these places," said Ruth Kava, director of nutrition at the American Council on Science and Health in New York. Her group has been skeptical of the "Super Size Me" attacks. "The message that these things send to people is if you never eat at a fast-food restaurant, you're not going to get fat," she said. "I kind of hate to see them sort of label this as [if] fast food is generically bad for you," she added.
